Major Slumping

I haven’t been blogging for the simple fact that I haven’t been reading or nothing really. I watched all three seasons of Once Upon a Time on Netflick, and now waiting for Sunday for the season 4 to start. Plus Castle comes back on Monday, so other than watching tv, sleeping, and going to work I haven’t felt like doing anything else. Hopefully I’ll snap out of it and read one of my books off my current reads pile and get back into it. Until then happy reading everyone else and hope your not going through a slump yourself.

FYI I know I said I would do the read a Thon but as much as I’ve been trying to read it’s just not working so I guess I forfeit in that. 😦

REVIEW: The Fallen Shadows series

Titles: Born at Midnight, Awake at Dawn, Taken at Dusk, Whispers at Moonrise, Chosen at Nightfall

Author: C.C. Hunter

Series: the fallen shadows

Overall Rating: 5/5

Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffins

This is a story of girl named Kylie Galen who life’s pretty much is going to crap. Especially since her parents are divorcing, her best friend is hanging out with other people, and now her mom is sending her to a camp called Shadow Falls for trouble teens. Except that the teens at the camp are not troubled just supernatural gifted, and apparently so is she. However the councils at the camp don’t know what she is plus Kylie believes she is and they can’t tell what kind of supernatural is herself. So now Kylie has to find out the truth about herself and survive camp life.

Series overall: Through these series Kylies gifts where showing a little in each book. Even if all that did was bring more questions then answers. Also in a camp full of teens there is going to be a lot of drama in relationships, friendship, and of course making enemies. I loved how there is different kinds of supernaturals like vampires, werewolves, fairies, and shape shifters.  For those who love love triangles there is one between Kylie, a fae, and a werewolf. This series is as a whole is really good there is mystery, magic, love, and a whole bunch of drama. If you haven’t read this series yet you really should give it a try it was better than i first thought and got addicted pretty fast. Plus i found out there is a spin off series still in Shadow Falls but based on my favorite vampire Della.

Until next time Happy Reading 🙂

REVIEW: Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

author: Becca Fitzpatrick

series: Hush hush #2

rating: 4/5

page count:427

publisher: Simon & Schuster

summary:   Nora Grey’s life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn’t pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He’s more elusive than ever (if that’s possible) and what’s worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora’s archenemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadn’t been acting so distant. Even with Scott’s totally infuriating attitude, Nora finds herself drawn to him – despite her lingering feelings that he is hiding something.

If that weren’t enough, Nora is haunted by images of her murdered father, and comes to question whether her Nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death. Desperate to figure out what happened, she puts herself in increasingly dangerous situations to get the answer. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything – and everyone – she trusts.

To plenty of people this was there least favorite book of the series but I really enjoyed it. Both Patch and Nora where having relationship problems and dealing with jealousy. I liked how real it was since everyone one goes through that even fallen angels. Again this there is New Moon references however i don’t believe Scott is supposed to be the next Jacob Black since Nora really didn’t know what to think.

There is more drama in this book with Patch hanging out with Marie and then Nora finding there is a connection between the Grey’s and Millar’s. Another attempt on Nora’s life that wasn’t that foreseeing as in the first book and that was a huge beytral in the end. Talking about ends this one left off on a cliffhanger that was decent and did make me want to read the next book sooner than later.

I still enjoyed this book and probably say one of my favorite of the series so far. Crescendo shows what can happen in a beginning relationship and enjoyed reading about the ups and downs. There seems to be more drama and more about secrets come out.

Until next time Happy Reading.

REVIEW: Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

title: Hush Hush

author: Becca Fitzpatrick

series: Hush Hush #1

page count: 391

rating: 4/5

publisher: Simon & Schuster

Nora Grey never knew that her life would change thanks to a boy named Patch who she was paired with in Biology class. Now Nora has to deal with fallen angels, Nephilims, and Patch whose life mission is to drive her crazy. Now Nora is on an adventure she never thought she be going through when she went to seat down in Biology.

I’ve heard plenty of mixed things about this book mostly that its a Twilight retelling instead with angels. I wasn’t going into this series for that reason and as i read this book I did find similarities. However there was enough in Hush Hush that i enjoyed the book.

The romance was slow paced for the fact that Nora and Patch drove each other crazy which made it more fun. I loved the humor of these book and actions though there was a type of mystery (that was easy to figure out), and nothing big happens until the end of the story.

Like i said there are some Twilight like themes but if you enjoyed that series then you shouldn’t mind these one. I will be reading the rest of the series maybe not right away but it will be happening in the future.

Until next time happy reading everyone.

Top Ten Tuesdays

Top Ten Tuesdays hosted by Should be Reading and the topic this week is Top Ten Book Characters That Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table. Am a day late but whatever i’ll make sure to actual do it on time next week.

1.Tom from the Rot & Ruins by Jonathon Mcberry series. I love this guy he is funny and very good with knowledge. Plus if there is a zombie attack while at lunch then Tom can take care of them.

2. Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. He is a very good guy loyal guy who will make sure there is never a dull time at the lunch table.

3. Amy from Incarnate by Jodi Meadows. Amy reminds me so much of myself that i think we would be good friends.

4. Gandalf from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. Stories all I would do is listen to him talk about the amazing things he’s seen.

5. Tella from the Shadow Falls c.c. hunter another character that i could see as a good friend she tells it as it is and you could never lie to her.

6. Cayden from The Distance Between Us by Kasie West. Love her for her sarcasm, i love my sarcasm as well so I think we would get along great.

7. Peck from the Iron Fey series by Julia Kagawa. Another story

8. Tucker from Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. Two reasons he’s cute and he has a truck plus he’s very loyal.

9. Guy from Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott. Two reasons ones he hots and two I know if i get lost in the wildness somewhere he would know what to do.

10. Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I love that she is so different from any other character I’ve seen and would love to see what she sees.

Like i said this is a day late and was making these list was a little difficult but i stick to my tablemates.

Until next week Happy Reading ;D
