Top Ten Tuesday

hosted by: broke and bookish

Question of the week: Ten books I will probably never read?

This is a hard one for the fact choosing books that people wont hopefully burn me later for. Some of these books I have e-books and others I haven’t even thought of buying. So let the burning commence.

1. Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld

This is one of those where I started multiply times and stop. This just isn’t the book for me.

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collin

This is the one that may have me committed however here I go. I have never desired to read this series even with the movies coming out I still don’t want to do it so I haven’t. I have told that I should try it and I have but I can’t get through the first chapter. So there is a possible I’ll never know the love and hype of these books.

3. Shades of Earth by Beth Revis

The second book A Million Suns that ruined the book for me. Amy was so whinny that I didn’t want to read another book with her in it. Plus I know what happens so its no big lost.

4. Insurgent by Veronica Roth

I loved Divergent however haven’t really felt like continuing the series. Especially knowing what happened in the end, also haven’t heard that much good things about the rest of the series. So I may watch the movies and not worry about the last two.

5. Elle Hopkins books

I hear her books are dark and take on hard topics, and even though they go by pretty quickly. However I don’t know if that is enough to make me want to read her books.

6. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry

I’ve really wanted to read this series since Pushing the Limits however I still haven’t picked them so up. So I believe its time to call it quits on these series.

7. The Duff by Kody Keplinger

I just don’t know if I want to really read this. At first I kind a wanted to because of the movie now though am back to really not wanting to.

8. Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick

I love the Hush Hush series however I haven’t heard one good thing about Black Ice. So as much as I would like to support Becca Fitzpatrick I can’t with this book.

9.The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

I’ve tired this book but I just can’t do it. So instead of keeping it on my shelf am just going to get rid of them.

10. Eve series  by Anna Carey

I’ve tired the first book but it was so cheesy that I couldn’t finish it. So its easy to say that this series wont be touched by me again.

  1. I feel the same about Black Ice and the Ellen Hopkins books, I will probably never read them. I have read The Hunger Games and Pushing the Limits and the Uglies series though, and enjoyed all of them. Uglies was my first dystopia and I read it when it first came out so I was way less picky than I am now. If I were to reread them I’m not sure if I would like them.

  2. I personally found the Insurgent adaptation to be a departure from the book and I’m really curious as to whether or not they change the ending to Allegiant (re: since everyone was flippin’ tables over what happened). I think I’ve seen comments suggesting where some readers wished they stopped reading after Divergent. So at least there are plenty of others who share your feelings!

    Cheers,
