Gwen has a destiny to fulfill, but no one will tell her what it is. She’s only recently learned that she is the Ruby, the final member of the time-traveling Circle of Twelve, and since then nothing has been going right. She suspects the founder of the Circle, Count Saint-German, is up to something nefarious, but nobody will believe her. And she’s just learned that her charming time-traveling partner, Gideon, has probably been using her all along.

For all the build up with the count and planning to out wit the whole thing was simple. Who the count turned out in there was did took me by surprise I have to say. And before that was an up and down for me.

Up toward 50% is Gwen trying to avoided Gideon. Then after that it was when stuff really happened. It was funny to  see how events in book 1 came back around to book three and it was explained. I also love the gargoyle who I can never remember his name. The way he pokes fun of Gwen and her relationship with Gideon. Or just put his two sense in when something happens. He doesn’t care that no one can see him, as long as Gwen can hear him.

Oh Gwen she found out a lot during this book and she took pretty well. She had a bit of green monster symptom and it wasn’t even toward Charlotte. However when the time came she was really quick to forgive and forget. I liked even though it wasn’t that surprising as I’ve seen it before.

I don’t believe there was any real growth in this book. I believe it was to short and quick for that. However it was for those who like time travel books, adventure, with a mystery element also.
