June Reading Wrap Up

Cupcakes and Ink by Helena Hunting (e-book)

Novella that splits between both Tenley Page and Hayden Stryker. It show how Tenley is starting to adapt to a new city. While Hayden a tattoo artist from across the street wondering who the new girl working for his aunt. Throughout this short story it shows the attraction between the two and then a cat and mouse game afterward. Gave this book a 3/5.

The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness (audible + paperback)

I still haven’t gotten a review up for this book, but I will say that I loved this sequel. It was a duel POV between Viola and Todd that shows both side of the war. From the first page to the last had me engaged the whole time and I need to get to Monster of Men in July. Even if it kills me. 5/5

The BFG by Roald Dahl (audible)

This was a cute children’s book that I read because of the movie. If you read this you can’t take anything serious because it was written for kids. However I don’t overly recommended the audible. Only because there is sound effects like eating and other disturbing sounds related to it. But if you okay with that then its a quick way to get through it. 3/5

HP: and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling (audible)

Listened to in one sitting and learned somethings about the story that I didn’t know before this. 4/5

HP: and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (audible)

same as the first book. 4/5

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (paperback + audible)

I heard about this book via twitter and wanted to give it a try since I haven’t read a paranormal book in a good while. And let me just say I simple loved this book as if you follow my twitter would know. There are really strong characters and lots of elements in these book that kept me intrigued until the end. 5/5

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (audible)

I ordered Shadow of Night and Book of Life when I was halfway done with A Discovery of Witches because I knew I wanted to continue on. I couldn’t wait for them to come so brought the audible of the last two books.  And I have to say this sequel didn’t disappoint. Again with action and this time in a different place. I finished this book in 3 days and just want to continue. 5/5

I read three books over 500 pages which am really happy about since big books always scared me. However I’ve learned that audible helps with that a lot along with other formats. Also I’ve started 2 series continued 1, read a novella, and a children book. Next month I’ll be getting to more series/trilogies. Fingers crossed.
