Summary: August Pullman was born with a facial deformity that has prevent his from school. Until 5th grade and his parents sign him up to Beecher Prep. Now August has to convince his classmate that he is just an ordinary kid with an extraordinary face.
This book was such realistic books that people should read to learn how to be nice to others. Also August (Auggie) though he has plenty going against him he has such a positive view point. He may not look like everyone else, but he’s nice, smart, and pretty much a little dork.
This is told not only in August POV but others around him. At first I didn’t know how to feel about that, but understand why it was important. It was to see the point of views of those around August.
It was also told by different voices (thanks to audible) which was a fun time to hear them with the other characters.
Like I said the realistic elements in these book. Like how August reacted to another school. Or the way people react to him, along with the bullying. Sure August had his ups and downs which is expected however he grew up to the challenge which was wonderful.
(mostly Jack and Summer) are the best. Yes they started off as his not so sure of him to being his best friends. August grew a friend base slowly with the other students with his humor and charm. That ending shows how much August touched the other kids at Beecher Prep School. Well except one but that’s not to bad in the whole picture.
where written very well in how they treat August. His parents are like the most supportive and fun parents. The Pullmans have there inside jokes and such a close bound. Then we have the grownups that August school who didn’t treat August differently which was nice. Also they didn’t let bullying happen. There was also those who weren’t so nice however it was good to see the other side of it.
The Audible Version
I liked the different voices and thought they did really good for making the characters have different voices. I will say though August voice wasn’t my favorite. Other than that this was a really good book to listen to. Now though I want to own and read it in physical format.
The only thing that I didn’t like is that these is the only book. There are also novellas of some of the side characters. I still would love to continue with all these characters. Other than that am glad I’ve read this and excited to read the novellas to this story, but also what ever else the author writes.
Let me know if other has read this book and tell me your favorite part.
