Top Ten Tuesday: best new-to-me authors of 2016

hosted by: the broke and the bookish

I don’t do this every week however I’ve read a lot of new authors this year so I felt it was a good one for me. So here is my rambles about some of the new authors I’ve found and want to read more from them.

                                                Lauren Blakely

These are adult books that don’t have all the drama that other books have especially young adults. Which was a relief to me and a change of pace that I could totally get used to. People maybe turned off for titles like Big Rock and Mister O, however yes its to the adult content. But also it does have something to do with the books so it was more fun.

                                    Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

I love them together in the joining writing of these books. If you don’t know the two books I mean are Illuminae and Gemina. A mix media book that started last year and just a joys to read. I just need to read there separate books but if its as good as there join books then am excited.

                                               Becky Albertalli

I’ve been putting off Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and I don’t know why. This book was a really good read and I just want more from this author. I don’t usually like Young Adult contemporaries are not my cup of tea. But because it has a secret email exchange between two closeted boys was more fun. I ate this book up and would really love the physical book form instead of ebook/audible.

                                                 Kristin Cashore

I read Graceling and needs to continue with the other two, because Graceling was beautifully written. Plus I loved just everything and just to keep reading these authors books. The book is big however listening to it with full cast plus Poe you could fall in love with it pretty quickly.

                                                       Alice Clayton

Just fun reads that really helped when I finished the Beautiful Bastard series. It was supposed to be a just to see if I would like it and I did. The series I read was Cocktail trilogy with some more ridicule titles like the first book called Wallbanger. But I loved it and its pretty much thanks to the characters and humor. See the pattern.

Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling

I started the Harry Potter series and am up to the third book. In the Robert Galbraith realm I loved the Corman strike series and caught up. So now am just  waiting for the next book coming out next year. She writes a great mystery book that I couldn’t figure out who the killer was. Plus they just get better as the series continues.

                                        Deborah Harkness

All Souls Trilogy killed me this year and simple loved everything about it. I listened to the whole trilogy pretty much right after the other and so glad I did. Can’t wait for more books. Especially more with the cross species, and a time traveling element would be fun.

                                                Helena Hunting

Pucked series is unnecessary but I simply loved so glad there is one more book on Randy. Look at those titles being reference to the boys being hockey players. Like I said there crazy but I feel in love with the characters and humor. Plus I’ve the rest of her books so hits and miss but the puck series is my favorite.

  Erika Johansen

Reading the Queen of the Tearling was a beautiful experience. I love the way she wrote this story and with the how all the characters acted to the word itself. I need to continue on because the story is so good and I just want to know. Also if audio it has a full cast that brings something interesting to the story since its a full cast.

                                                Christina Lauren

I read beautiful bastard series this year and pretty much fell in love with them. Though its not the best written book or go really deep. The characters, humor, and the straight joy I had at reading this series I want more.

R.J. Palacio

I read WONDER this year and simple loved this book that I can’t wait to read more by this author next year. This is a middle school book that if you listen to the audio its prefect for the story and loved every second of it.
