Book Tag: How I Choose My Books

I was looking up some bookish tags and found this one so here is the How I Choose My Books Tag enjoy..

1-Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book? Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

2-Thin of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but why did you read it in the first place? One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

3-Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick up a book at random. How did you discover this book? I don’t have bookshelves or my books so I can’t really choose one.

4-Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it. Dearest Clementine by Lex Martin. A friend on Goodreads finished this book then recommended to me. It was .99 cent so I got it and was totally addicted to it. I actually need to reread it soon because I just remember really enjoying it and not much else.

5-Pick a book that you discovered through YouTube/ book blogs. Did it live up to the hype? I have two for these because I have a disliked and one I love one so here we go.

Loved Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo which I’ve been putting off because I didn’t want to be disappointed and yet ended up loving and reading the second book right after.

Disliked Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. If you watch BookTube on the regular than you know who the booksplosion group is. Well they choose this book and I wanted to participate and ended up hating it.

6-Find a book on your shelves or e-reader  with a one-word title. What drew you to this book? Enclave by Ann Aguirre I was drawn to this book because I just finished another zombie book and was in the mood for more.

7-What book did you discover through a film/ tv adaption? Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion I watched the movie multiple times before I even realized there was a book. Which is so much better than the movie less romance based and more of the zombies vs. the people.

8-Think of your all-time favorite book(s). When did you read these and why did you pick them in the first place. Is this even a question because I’ve talked about this series all the time. The 45th book comes out in  September and that’s the In Death series by J.D. Robb. 45 books not including the novellas yeah am addicted. I discover this series from one of those if you like this then try this type of situation.

So hope you learned a little about how I choose book where in honesty its always a guessing game. If you really want to know how I choose books its kind of like try a chapter except sometimes I go through a lot of books before finding one. Even then I haven’t been good at finishing them.

So yeah let me know how you choose books in the comments below and I’ll try and blog again soon.

Top 5: Books I want to Read in 2017

More like which series I want to wrap up in 2017. Because am so guilty of starting series and never continuing though I own all the books. Which shows since I’ve only completed a handful of books this year. So here are some series I would love to continue in the new year.

1. Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen only have read the first book and really been wanting to continue. My first excuse was I had time before the third one came out. Will that has passed and now I have two books to read which i can’t wait.

2. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski was so good and Krestel is such a strong character that I would love to see her brilliant mind work. I own all three books and though I read the first one in the beginning of the year I just never continued.

3. Fire and Blue from the Graceling world by Kristin Cashore.  I feel in love with everything that Graceling was and kind of got bummed when I learned it’s not just a continue on from where it ended. However Kristin Cashore writes so beautiful that I want to see where she goes with these two books.

4. Monster of Men by Patrick Mess the third book in the chaos walking trilogy. The funny thing about this trilogy is I’ve read The Knife of Never Letting Go in 2015, then I read Ask and the Answer this year. So am going to keep up with tradition and read the last book in 2017 it just seems right.

5. The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson I need to get to The Heart of Betryal and The Beauty of Darkness. Because I finished the first book this year and really want to know how Lia handles what’s coming her way.

And that’s just the short list. I have so many completed collection of series that I’ve only read the first book in. Or haven’t in started but decided to get them all. Am going to make a proper list soon so I know how bad it is and am not really looking forward to the number. Wish me luck.

Pokémon Go Book Tag

Creator: Read At Midnight

So to celebrate the fact that the #READTHEMALLTHON starts tomorrow here’s a tag that goes along with the Pokemon theme. Here we go:

STARTER: the book that started your love of reading. I’ve always had a love of books since I was a kid. So trying to pick one book is super hard and makes my head hurt.

PIKACHU: and ironic classic that you’ll always love. While most people will say Harry Potter my is Little Women. I remember this being one of the first book I’ve read by myself so I could watch the movie.

ZUBAT: a book you lost interest in because its literally everywhere. Ever book every. Throne of Glass, and The Red Queen are to of my top choices.

DITTO: a book that reminds you of other books (tropes) but you still love anyway. Passenger and Ruby Red they have similar time traveling storylines.

SNORLAX: a book/series you have not started because of sheer size. the Bone Season is just a big book and through I’ve heard good things about it the size turns me off.

GENGAR: a book that kept you up at night. The Ask and the Answer and The Queen of the Tearling was two current reads that this happened to me.

NIDOKING/QUEEN: your bookish OTP. I love my OTPs my top one is Clara and Tucker from Unearthly.

RAPIDASH: a fire-hot, fast paced read. All Souls series by Deborah Harkness I finished those books right after the other.

EEVEE: series you’ll never get tired of seeing spin-offs for. I just want a series where my favorite side character’s  get there own stories.

MAGIKARP: a book/series that was surprisingly awesome. The Lunar Chronicles even though I haven’t finished the last book. I didn’t like Cinder and wasn’t sure I wanted to continue but so glad I did.

LEGENDARY: an overhyped series you’re still excited to read. I want to give a Court of Throne and Roses a chance since I love my retellings.

MEW & MEWTWO: a collectors edition you wish you owned. I want the Six of Crow box set because of the color pages.

POKE-EGG: a debut novel you’re excited for. Heartless because its a retelling and Marissa Meyer. Yes please.

LURE MODULE: an auto-buy author. Morgan Matson I have read all her books and can’t wait to see what else she writes.

SERVER’S DOWN: a book release you’ve been waiting on forever. Its funny I couldn’t wait for Forever Doon even though I haven’t finished second book yet. I just wanted them all together.

TAG:The Sims Book Tag

Creator: Hails Hearts Nyc

I loved the Sim and played 1-3 before losing them and my computer not being able to work it right. So though I haven’t played the game in years. Sims will always have a special part in my heart. Anyway now done with memory lane here are the answers to some very Sim like questions.

1. The original Sims: the best author debut. Legend by Marie Lu I loved this book and though I haven’t read  past Legend I still remember how much I enjoyed it.

2. The grim reaper: the saddest character death. My Sister’s Keeper has one of the saddest ending. Oh and its not the movie ending if you want the true ending that Jodi Picoult wrote then read the book. Its still heartbreaking as hell.

3. Sims getting stuck: a character that just got in the way. Christian from the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand. He bugged me because he doesn’t take hints very well and wouldn’t leave Clara alone.
4. Simlish: a book with amazing writing. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a beauty touching story told by Death during WW2.

5. Expansion packs: a series where the books kept on getting better. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. For I didn’t like Cinder and couldn’t decide if I want to keep reading or not. So glad I did even if I haven’t finished Winter yet.
6. Sims romance: the worst case of insta love. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi I hated how Adam and Juliette relationship was in this first book. It was annoying to see how they were so in love when they just meet.
7. Cheats: a book that was entirely unrealistic. The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Her life could not be that predictable and repeating like it is in each book.
8. Needs fulfillment: a character who made all the wrong decisions. Sky from Hopeless by Colleen Hoover just kept doing stupid things. She will say one thing and do another and you couldn’t trust her.
9. Error code 12: a series that started off great but went downhill from there. Now before I say which series I just want to say that I love this series. It’s just when it came to the Study trilogy by Maria V. Snyder the other two books didn’t live up to the first one.
10. The Sims vortex: a book/series that completely engrossed you. I actual had three series that I engrossed in days like the Night Huntress by Jeanie Frost, In Death by J.D. Robb,  and Shadowfalls series by C.C. Hunter. I don’t read series right after the other but I feel in love enough to continue.

So what did everyone think and what would be your answer for series that started off good but went downhill. Plus which book was unrealistic to you while reading. Let me know in the comments I would love to know.

A Mash Up Of bookish thing

Bookish Delights:

1.Getting new books. I don’t try and buy to many physical books this year. However e-books are still my weakness. However opening up a book to see the book design or end pages and am in love.

2.Organizing my shelves. I need to organize again though I don’t know how. But as long as my series are together and doesn’t look a mess am happy.

3.Audiobooks while at work. Seriously working fast food is one of the stressful part of my day. So when I have free time with nothing but cleaning I start listening to a book.

4.Having complete series. Though I don’t finish them as fast as I should I do love seeing complete series on my shelves and dream about marathoning them someday.

5.Reading a book with all my favorite things. My slow romances with the sassy male characters with a great story line  is my life.

6.when I get a like on a post or view. I don’t blog very often since I don’t read as often or stay up with a lot of things. So when I get a view or like it always make my day. marketplace and book outlet. I love both site though my wallet and parents disagree. However there cheap and I will some how find someplace to put them.

8. getting my mom to read one of my books. I love when my mother comes into my room and ask for a book recommendation. The ones I gave her she has liked so am a proud book worm.

9. collecting bookish things. I don’t have many but it is a hobby that I like along with collecting books.

10. goodreads shelves. They help me keep organized in all my formats of books I have. So goodreads helps me know what I have which format I have it in.

Today my copy of The Rose and the Dagger by Renee came in and now am currently reading The Wrath and the Dawn. Which I should have read forever ago but haven’t yet.
