Tome Topple Readathon

Hosted by: Thoughts of Tomes

Dates: June 6-19

Theme: to read as many big books that being a book 500 pages or over. There are challenges however you don’t have to do them just read as many big books pages wise or get one big book done. Which should be fun task in two weeks.

If you would like to do the challenges:

1. Read more than one tome (500+ pages)
2. Take a graphic novel break (doesn’t need to be over 500 pages!)
3. Read a tome that is part of a series
4. Read over 500 pages in one week
5. Read an adult novel

Am not overall trying for the challenge I would like to get through at least two or three of my big books TBR.

On my list:

  • Chaos Walking by Patrick Ness (Ask and the Answer & Monster of Men)
  • The Diviners by Libba Bray

These are the three I’ll be forcing on should be a fun time. I think though that since I have at least two on audio I may get through them faster. Plus if I can get the Chaos Walking I have would have one challenge complete which would be total awesome.

Anyone else going to try this read-a-thon its a great way to try and get over a fear for big books plus get them off your TBR. Plus if you go to thought of tomes there is a giveaway happening if you want to try for a book.

So I said I was going to read some contemporary last week and I did for one day. Then I don’t know what happened. Okay I know what happened I got detracted. By my TBR. I for some reason decided it was time to organize my ebooks, hardbacks, and paperbacks. So now that I’ve started that projector takes a lot of time.

However I did start a new book. Which I really shouldn’t for I have enough am currently reading. But I was in the mood to read Pushing the Limits Katie McGarry and that’s what am doing.

So sorry RYBAT for trying not so much. Getting distracted happens a lot with me and my reading suffers.

Time for RYBSAT

These is an event that is through the 19-25 where you pick a place on your bookshelf and read those books.

I want to go contemporary for none other reason then that I need to. I have a TBR which should surprise anyone who knows me and how I never stick to them. Anyway like I said I picked four contemporaries for the week long read-a-thon and they consist of.

  1. I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
  2. Shut Out by Kody Keplinger
  3. Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler
  4. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

All these books I’ve been wanting to read and so now is better than later. If I can finish these four I’ll be happy but if I just finish one I’ll be okay with.

Anyone else doing the RYBSAT this coming week if so let me know which books you would like to get through.

Bout of books Update

Yes am doing Bout of books 15 it’s a new year and a good time to do a read a thon. If you don’t know what the bout of books is will The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team.

So my goal is to pretty much page count then finishing books. If I can get over 1000 words I’ll be very proud. Plus as a. Bonus of getting though 3 books. So here’s being hopefully. My book choices will probably be short books to help me out.

Day 1:

Books: Eternity in Death, Reboot

Page count:3 hours 27mins, 28

Finished: Eternity in Death

Challenge: hosted by Lori @ Writing Your Own Fairy Tale

would you rather lend to someone who dog-ears pages or to someone who reads with cheesy Cheetos fingers? Dog-ears for I don’t mind them to me they add character.

would you rather be able to meet one character of your choice or meet one author of your choice? Character cause either way I would probably be tongue tied. So it would be a hi then bye.

would you rather never be allowed in a book store again or never be allowed in a library again? Book store because I love buying books to much, and I want a library.

would you rather have to choose one of your favorite character to die in their book or have to pick one of your favorite couple break up in their book? Well since most of the time my favorite characters are side characters. They get killed off anyway.

Would you rather be required to read Twlight once a year for the rest of your life or The Scarlet Letter once a year for the rest of your life? Twlight since I’ve read the series and don’t mind going back into the world of sparkle vampires.

Day 2:

Books: Passenger, Reboot

total page count: 5hrs 32

I know that plenty of people on here do the read a thon and I wish you all the best of luck.

Friday Read including TBR Takedown 2.0

yes am still trying to read even if it’s slow going. My current read is Cruel Beauty a Beauty and the Beast Retelling by Rosamund Hodge. Am only a little over 100 pages and waiting for more. I’ll most likely be reading this during the TBR Takedown because I know I won’t finish it today.

And speaking of Takedown TBR

Up above is my TBR pile that I can hopefully will get through. the read-a-thon last from the 25th to the 31st.  The first two books in the Under the Never Sky are re-reads. Hopefully I can get through them so that I can finally see how it ends in Into the Still Blue. Maybe Somday will be my second Colleen Hoover book. Hope to enjoy it. And I’ve already said my peace on Cruel Beauty so wish me luck.

On this read-a-thon am doing a page count  instead of books. Reason being I’ll probably just read a little here and there It would be simpler. So anyway like I said wish me luck on these and let me know if your joining in. If you are use the #tbrtakedown on Twitter to find others who are joining in.
