T5W:Favorite Polarizing Books

Okay to be honest I had to look what polarizing means also which books count for it. And this is what I came up with and hope you enjoy.

50 Shades Series by E.L. James: Lot of people give this series a lot of hate, but I can’t help but love it. I get that its not the best thing written or the concept people can’t get behind. Yet this series is a totally guilty pleasure for me that I wont apologize for.

How to Love by Katie Cotugno: This is a your going to either like it or dislike it. I was the first one. This was just a sweet contemporary that I enjoyed and glad I read.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer: I read this series before it got really popular and I remember loving it. I probably couldn’t read it again without cringing however I’ll always have that first time.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: It took me a bit to get into the book itself but dang when I did I loved it. This book made a rare thing happen and I cried which will keep this book special to me.

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins: I didn’t like this book which sucks because the concept should have made me like it. However the main character Harper was not my favorite and her decisions ruined it.

So I did four loves and one dislike and its all fun. Let me know what you think.

Top 5: Books I want to Read in 2017

More like which series I want to wrap up in 2017. Because am so guilty of starting series and never continuing though I own all the books. Which shows since I’ve only completed a handful of books this year. So here are some series I would love to continue in the new year.

1. Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen only have read the first book and really been wanting to continue. My first excuse was I had time before the third one came out. Will that has passed and now I have two books to read which i can’t wait.

2. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski was so good and Krestel is such a strong character that I would love to see her brilliant mind work. I own all three books and though I read the first one in the beginning of the year I just never continued.

3. Fire and Blue from the Graceling world by Kristin Cashore.  I feel in love with everything that Graceling was and kind of got bummed when I learned it’s not just a continue on from where it ended. However Kristin Cashore writes so beautiful that I want to see where she goes with these two books.

4. Monster of Men by Patrick Mess the third book in the chaos walking trilogy. The funny thing about this trilogy is I’ve read The Knife of Never Letting Go in 2015, then I read Ask and the Answer this year. So am going to keep up with tradition and read the last book in 2017 it just seems right.

5. The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson I need to get to The Heart of Betryal and The Beauty of Darkness. Because I finished the first book this year and really want to know how Lia handles what’s coming her way.

And that’s just the short list. I have so many completed collection of series that I’ve only read the first book in. Or haven’t in started but decided to get them all. Am going to make a proper list soon so I know how bad it is and am not really looking forward to the number. Wish me luck.

T5W:Favorite First Liners

First liners are important because it can make or break if a person wants to read it or not. For people like me who only glimpse at that summary then open the book to see if its something that you want to read. If not then it goes right back on the shelf. So here are some first liners that kept me interest to keep reading.

“My name is Lizzy Tucker, and I used to think I was normal.”

-from Wicked by Janet Evanovich

“When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home”

-from The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

“Today was the day a thousand dreams would die and a single dream would be born.”

-The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

“A stabbing pain jolts me awake.”

-from Alive by Scott Sigler

“I’m pretty much fucked”

-from The Martin by Andy Weir

So these are some of my favorite book first liners that I have come across in my reading life. Of course there more, because there will always be more to read them from. So my fellow book lovers have any favorite first liners let me know which ones they are. Until next time 🙂

Top Five Wednesday

TOPIC: Authors You Are Waiting on Another Book From

deborah harknessDeborah Harkness

The book of Life came out in 2014. So I need a new something from her.

michelle hodkinsMichelle Hodkins

I loved the mara dyer trilogy and I know there is supposed to be a spin off but who knows when that will be.

robin laFeversRobin LaFevers

His Fair Assassin is a really good historical young adult that I really can’t wait to see what is next.

stephanie perkinsStephaine Perkins

She has written short  stories for two books that she’s edited and I just want a full length book.

markus zusakMarkus Zusak

The way he writes books he should have more books out.

I need more books from these authors though I don’t really need them on my shelves. So this was a short post but don’t worry tomorrow is a longer review. What 5 authors would you like to write more books? Let me know in the comments below.

T5W: Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Series

1. Kenji from the Shatter Me trilogy. I have been saying this since the second book and I know plenty of others as well. Kenji is just a great character he’s loyal to the Omega Point, and a great friend to Juliette. Plus he has a wicked sense of humor. Why wouldn’t anyone want to see more of that in book form.

2. Roar from Under the Never Sky. I love Roar in this trilogy so I need at least one book. Other than a novella I wouldn’t mind more of him.

3. Jamie from the unbecoming of mara dyer trilogy. Please just please. He didn’t have much of part in the first two books. However I still would love to just enjoy a book on Jamie.

4.Meredith and Rashmi from Anna and the French Kiss. I know a two-fer.I would like to see what happened to them after Anna and the French Kiss.

Top 5 Wednesday Character Types you would like to Drown

Okay i changed the question a little bit ,but hey there are a lot of characters that I could easy drown. So am going with type of characters that would not be safe with me around body of water.

1. Queens and Kings

They always let the power they get go to there heads. Clear example would be Queen Levana from the Luna Chronicles. I don’t know if I would every get close enough to get her close to a drowning unless I ask Cinder for help. And even then it’ll be difficult but if I can get the job done then I wouldn’t mind the work. Its hard to love the royal families when they try to control people, start wars, and kill just because. So if they drown in a little lake or pond then I don’t think anyone would mind.

2. Crazed Boy Best Friends

Great example is Bree from the Sweep series. She is supposed to be the best friend of our main character Morgan. However when Cal came along and showed interest in Morgan then Bree decide they can’t be friends anymore. Saying she’s in love with Cal. Oh and Cal is not off the hook either as he knew, but I believe was enjoying it to much. That’s what I don’t get about these kinds of characters. How can a friendship that you’ve had all your life go up in smoke thanks to one guy I don’t get that and may never will. So drown.

3. Mayors in general

Have you’ve ever read a book with a good mayor in it. Let me know because I sure haven’t. In The Chaos Walking Trilogy everyone thought that Aaron was the evil guy. He was but not compared to Mayor Prentiss who brained washed his town, and attack other towns. So please tell me how does that make him the true enemy so drowning him would be doing people a favor.

4. Abbess

This is a thanks to the Abbess Mother from  His Fair Assassin Trilogy. She is pissed me off ever time she showed up because the Abbess always wanted to send the girls off. Even if it is not what they want to do, and call it there Gods wish. I call bullshit. I don’t know what her end game is, but I say just drown her so she can stop pushing people around.

5. Characters That Remind me of Peter

So straight up bullies. Am so tired of having bullies that never learn anything. (Side note I haven’t read past Divergent of the series so I don’t know if he grows any. So for this he’s a bully). So making him an example my get them in line for once. Oh and can I include spoil kids to. They become bullies so they should count on the list of lets drown you.

So that was my top 5 of Character types that I wouldn’t mind drowning in one way or another. So the question is which characters or type would you like you to drown. Let me know down below. Until next time guys keep reading 🙂

Top 5 Wednesday

okay so I realized that my list was harder than I first thought. I don’t have that many books that have multiply Pov’s but I did round these up so here we go.

A Game of Martin by George R.R. Martin

Every chapter was a new person which can be confusing but thankfully there is a character glossary in the back to keep up.

A little Something Different by Sandy Hall

Apparently these book is about one relationship that is shown by 19 different people.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Told through different points of view even though its mainly the three main characters.

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

Told through a princess, a prince and rebel. There may be more but I haven’t read it yet so I wouldn’t know.

The Luna Chronciles by Marissa Meyers

There is different people to keep up with everything happen around as the world fight the Lunars.

Sorry for the descriptions but I’ve only read two out of the five books. So this is my Top 5 and let me know your top 5 list.

Until then happy reading. 🙂

T5w: Favorite Series Endings

I don’t finish series very often so this list was a bit hard to come up with. However thanks to goodreads I picked my top 5 happy endings in series that I did finish so here we go.

1.The Heist Society by Ally Carter
I loved the story and the adventures that Katarina Bishop and friends go on to pull the heist. The heist get a little more complicated as the trilogy goes on but a very good story overall. Plus the relationship between Katarina and Hal was so enjoyable you knew they liked each other however was to stubborn.

2.Shadow Falls by C.C. Hunter
I loved this series for the relationship and mystery of what Kylie Galen. Plus it helped that there is supernatural elements, and that Kylie picked the guy I wanted in the end so that’s always a bonus.

3.The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
I don’t know of anyone who was didn’t love the story or end of these series. The world building in Victorian London, and the relationships are the best. Also that ending was something I haven’t seen before and tip my hat to Cassandra Clare for pulling it off.
4.Sign of Seven by Nora Roberts
This is one of my favorite series by Nora Roberts that is a respect read for me. I love the three “brothers” with there humor and good looks. Also the story itself had its dark moments that I didn’t really expect. The end was great for the fact that the chaos stopped and everyone left happy.

5.The Iron Fey by Julia Kagawa
My first Fey series and I really enjoyed this for the fact that there is character growth throughout. Not just in Megan Chase but the other characters as well. And again the world in the Never Never was dangerous but still full of imagination that I really enjoyed.
